You’ll have an initial consultation with Dr. Sadineni. She will examine your teeth to determine the cause of your white spots (e.g., fluorosis, demineralization from braces or poor hygiene, early decay, or enamel hypoplasia) and assess if Icon Resin Infiltration is the right treatment for you.
The tooth surface with the white spots will be gently cleaned. Then, a special etching solution or gel will be applied to the discolored area. This etching process creates micro-porosities in the enamel, opening up the surface to allow the Icon resin to penetrate deeply.
This tooth-colored resin is designed to deeply penetrate the porous enamel and fill in the demineralized areas. Resin has optical properties similar to natural enamel.
Finally, Dr. Sadineni will polish the treated tooth surface to reveal an even-toned, beautiful, and natural-looking result.
